Wakoucha (60g)
CHF 14.50

The taste of this black leaf tea is refined, delicately floral with a noticeable honeyed and spicy note. The word "kou-cha" translates as "purple tea". Moya Wakoucha comes from the Mie region on the island of Honshu.

Black Wakoucha tea is an excellent accompaniment to foods and desserts whose sweetness contrasts. Like all black teas, Wakoucha is dried after harvest and then fermented. This process gives it its dark color, slightly earthy flavor, and lower caffeine content than green Sencha, for example. Black tea has a supportive effect on the digestive system. An infusion of wakoucha can be a source of amino acids, beta-carotene, folic acid, potassium, calcium and phosphorus. Because few farmers in Japan still choose to produce black tea, wakoucha remains an uncommon and rare leaf tea.
