Bancha (60g)
CHF 14.50

This Bancha is organically grown from ripe tea leaves of the 2nd and 3rd harvest of Sencha on small, family-run farms on the island of Kyushu. The tea has a robust and slightly grassy flavor and a light yellow hue. As an everyday tea in Japan, Bancha enjoys great popularity due to its low caffeine content and can be drunk at any time of day.

The name Bancha is composed of the Japanese words "ban" and "cha". "Cha" in Japanese stands for tea, while "ban" can be interpreted as daily, popular or late. The last meaning refers to the late harvest of tea leaves, which are harvested from the lower parts of the tea bushes.

Bancha is characterized by a high content of tannins, which gives the tea a slightly acidic taste and a pronounced nutty aftertaste. These tannins also have anti-inflammatory and detoxifying effects. In addition, Bancha is a rich source of antioxidants and catechins, which makes drinking the tea good for digestion, cardiovascular system and overall health.
